Home Services Paint Correction

A one-step paint correction is $399 for a sedan and $439 for a truck or SUV. It is a machine polish that removes swirl marks, oxidation, water spots and light scratches, restoring gloss and depth to paint that has gone dull. It takes most of a day and is done at your home.

Pull your car into direct sunlight and look at the hood at an angle. If you see a web of fine circular scratches, that is swirl marking — mostly caused by automatic car washes and dirty wash mitts. No wax or coating removes it. It has to be polished out.

We use FLEX Fire and FLEX Ice polishes with a machine polisher to cut the defects back and refine the finish.

What a one-step polish fixes

  • Swirl marks and wash-induced fine scratching
  • Oxidation and dullness from sun exposure
  • Light water spotting and etching
  • Loss of gloss and depth in the paint

What one step will not fix: deep scratches you can catch with a fingernail, damage through the clear coat, and stone chips. A one-step is a single cut-and-finish pass — it makes a real, visible difference across the whole car, but it is not a full multi-stage correction.

The best-value combination: polish first, then coat. Correct the paint at $399, then lock it in with the 4-year ceramic coating at $299. You get corrected paint protected for four years, and the coating is preserving a finish worth preserving.

Questions

Paint Correction FAQ

How much does paint correction cost?

Harmony Detailing charges $399 for a one-step paint correction on a sedan and $439 on a truck or SUV.

What is the difference between polishing and waxing?

Waxing adds a protective layer on top of the paint. Polishing removes a microscopic amount of clear coat to level out swirls and scratches. Wax hides nothing and fixes nothing; polish actually corrects the defect.

Will a one-step polish remove all my scratches?

It removes swirl marks, oxidation and light scratches. Deep scratches you can feel with a fingernail go through the clear coat and cannot be safely polished out in one step.

Should I get paint correction before ceramic coating?

Yes, if the paint has visible swirls. A coating seals in whatever is underneath it for four years, so correcting first is the right order.

What polishes do you use?

FLEX Fire for cutting and FLEX Ice for finishing, alongside Shine Supply, Gyeon and Koch-Chemie products.
